Features and description
Ashton Old Baths is a historic space, re-imagined for small and medium-sized businesses in the digital and creative sectors. Once a Victorian public bath house, we have transformed this iconic landmark to house a progressive community of big-thinkers and world-changers. The central hub, an architectural marvel built into the original walls, is home to an impressive range of private workspaces designed to nurture creativity and growth. We pride ourselves on providing first-class shared workspace, coworking space, virtual offices, and a variety of event spaces within the original structure.
Ashton Old Baths has been redefined as a high-tech hub, created specifically to support the digital, creative, and tech industries. While our building represents a rich history of community and design, our members symbolise the future of the business world, working every day to discover new advancements, solutions, and services in today’s digital landscape.
Our history is deeply rooted in everything we do here at Ashton Old Baths. In Victorian England, the Baths were built to provide a safe and sociable environment for communities in Greater Manchester to come together. Over the years, the Baths have hosted a variety of functions and events, now standing as one of the most stunning Innovation Centres in the country. Together with Tameside mbc, we have revitalised and transformed this iconic space, continuing the great legacy of Ashton Old Baths for years to come.
Our centre hosts the new Data Centre, the heart of the Ashton Old Baths redevelopment. The Ashton Old Baths Data Centre received a global award during the 2021 dcd Global Data Centre Awards. The Data Centre supports the Council and nhs systems and offers a range of rack sizes from a quarter to full height for commercial requirements.
Location
The centre has transport links to Manchester Piccadilly, Ashton Under Lyne and Manchester Airport. It is also situated close to nearby cities Manchester, Stockport and Oldham. Nearby, there are museums to visit, fitness centres, and places to shop, including The Ladysmith Shopping Centre. There are places to eat and drink in the area, including Costa Coffee and a range of banks. Parking is available at the centre for all tenants and employees. Local bus routes also run close to the office.
