Although there aren-t many sites in Castelli itself there are still some 16th Century buildings to admire. Its charm, however, lies in the many attractive views along alleyways which are framed by mountain peaks and dense forests.
Due to the large deposits of clay found in the area, Castelli has long been known in Abruzzo and beyond for hand painted ceramics, particularly from the Middle Ages until today. There is even a Ceramics Museum, installed in an old Franciscan Convent, which displays many historic items. There is also a ceramics trade fair, held every August, and craft shops in the historic centre, offer visitors and residents, alike, the possibility of precious purchases.
