This house built between 1890/1900, commissioned by a notary, has always played a central role in Saint-Didier-sur-Arroux. At the time, it was called "villa de lila’s" because lilacs grew along the facade.
The notary sold it to cattle dealers, who had the bathroom added in the 1950s and had the (vegetable) garden turned into a "park". They placed a weighbridge on the yard for their own cattle and the entire village.
The current owners have had a brocante with a tea garden there for a long time.
The house itself still contains many original details.
When you enter the house, you enter a long hallway. On the left side there is a living room with a fireplace, on the right side there is a dining room. On this floor there is also the kitchen, a bedroom, a toilet and a spacious bathroom. A terrace adjoins the bathroom. On the floor there are 4 bedrooms and 1 spacious bathroom.
Under the house is a spacious basement, part of which is used as a summer kitchen and small bedroom.
One of the outbuildings has a good, insulated roof and is currently used as a shop space for the brocante. This can of course be used as desired.
There is also a large barn with a former small house. This could be used as a house again, but then it needs to be completely renovated.
A beautiful eye-catcher is the spacious, walled park garden with a fantastic view over the rolling landscape.
Despite the fact that there is some work and costs to be made on this property, the potential and charm are great. If you also see this potential, we would like to invite you for a viewing.
