The Palais Baréty, a majestic residence of an old family from the County of Nice dating back to the 19th century, has been listed as a historical monument since April 1994.
It is located at 31 rue du Maréchal-Joffre, known at the time of its construction as rue Cotta.
Built in 1898 by the departmental architect Lucien Barbet, who had previously worked on the renovation of the prefecture starting from 1892, the palace was commissioned by Dr. Alexandre Baréty, founder and first president of the Acadèmia Nissarda.
At the heart of the prestigious Carré d'Or, the Palais is situated in a peaceful and verdant environment, facing the Jean Moréno park and a few streets away from the famous Promenade des Anglais.
