What the owner told us...
“There’s something very special about the way this house feels. We chose it for the large, south-facing garden, especially that extra corner that catches the last of the evening sun. We call it our ‘gin and tonic corner’ and it has been the setting for so many relaxed evenings. The garden is private and full of interest all year round, yet there’s still plenty of lawn for games and gatherings. Inside, the rooms are generous, light and airy, and the connection between the living spaces and the garden makes it feel like the outside is part of the home. It’s peaceful and elegant, but also practical. We have loved entertaining here, from cosy winter dinners to summer parties with fifty people spilling between the house and garden. It has been a magical space for us.”
Our thoughts...
This is the kind of home that just feels good the moment you step inside. Set on a quiet crescent in one of Stamford’s most desirable areas, it offers space, light and an easy flow that works beautifully for both everyday life and special occasions.
The hallway is wide and welcoming, giving you a first glimpse of the generous proportions that run throughout. To one side, the dining room catches the light and looks out to the front, its glazed doors creating a sense of connection to the rest of the house. It is a versatile room that works as a formal dining space, a playroom or even a home office.
To the rear, the living room is a real heart-of-the-home space. French doors open directly to the garden, while a bespoke media wall with integrated lighting and storage makes it feel both stylish and functional. In summer, you can throw open the doors and let the breeze flow in. In winter, it is the perfect place to curl up and unwind.
The kitchen is thoughtfully designed with plenty of cupboard space, integrated appliances and a pantry. Doors open straight to the garden, so whether it is a summer breakfast outside or keeping an eye on children playing, you are always connected to the outdoors. A separate utility room keeps laundry and extra storage tucked neatly out of sight, and a downstairs cloakroom is perfectly placed for guests. The entire ground floor is finished with timber flooring for a seamless, practical look that ties the spaces together.
Upstairs, the layout has been designed to give everyone a comfortable bedroom. The principal and second bedrooms each have their own en-suite and built-in mirrored wardrobes, bringing both style and storage. The other three rooms are all genuine doubles. Bedrooms three and four are currently set up as a studio and a study, but have been kept in immaculate condition with protective film on the carpets. Bedroom five is a comfortable guest room. A bright family bathroom completes the first floor.
Step outside and the garden is every bit as impressive as the interior. Landscaped with natural stone paving, carefully chosen planting and semi-mature trees, it offers privacy without feeling closed in. There are several seating areas to enjoy at different times of day, from sunny breakfast spots to that famous ‘gin and tonic corner’ in the evening. At night, the garden comes alive with subtle feature lighting. The garden room is fully powered, heated and lit, making it ideal as a studio or home office.
The property also has a double garage and driveway parking, and the location is superb. You can walk into Stamford along Tinwell Road, enjoy countryside and riverside walks from your door, and reach the A1 easily for commuting. The neighbourhood is friendly and welcoming, with good schools close by.
This is a home that offers space, elegance and flexibility, all wrapped up in a setting that encourages both relaxation and entertaining. It is easy to live in, easy to love and ready for its next chapter.
