Owners Insight
"We feel lucky to have called the house our home for the past fourteen years, having been able to adapt and redesign to suit our needs as a family. Our main family space to the garden level has given us a peaceful sanctuary, surrounded by greenery where we can throw open the wide doors to join with the garden. The house has also given us room for two growing children, and independent spaces for us to have two rooms as home offices, although easily giving five bedrooms if people need.
We are fortunate to have exceptional schools close at hand, with Torre Primary, Torquay Academy, and the Grammar Schools, all within comfortable walking distance. The house has been exceptional for us, but we have now decided to make a lifestyle change and hopefully try semi-rural living."
Step Inside And Down To The Garden Level
An obscure glazed composite entrance door opens to the spacious reception hall, bathed in light from two windows. The living space is arranged over three levels, and taking the stairs down to the garden level you step into the impressive open plan family room, arranged with split levels affording subtle separation and twin set of extensive folding doors connecting the garden. The kitchen has been beautifully appointed in deep blue cabinetry and brass detailing, topped with white quartz work tops with carved drainer, sink with integrated tap providing instant boiling water and filtered water, with the kitchen including a central island with space for stools. Integrated appliances include a five ring gas hob, oven, combination microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Stepping down into the sitting area, there is ample space for cosy seating. A cloakroom completes the garden level, with contemporary vanity unit and exposed heavy beam.
The Entrance Level
To the entrance level, two bedrooms and a utility space lead off the generous reception hall, with the utility having provisions for a washing machine and dryer, range of cupboards which house the Viessmann gas boiler, ceramic sink and outlook to the front. The primary bedroom features French doors to a balcony with steel and glass balustrade overlooking the garden, fitted wardrobes, and tasteful en suite with walk-in shower having a rain head, glazed screen, and low profile stone effect tray. Vanity unit, full tiling, twin windows, and cupboard housing the gas meter. Bedroom 5 is currently used as a study, although versatile as a bedroom, or additional reception room.
Step Upstairs To The Top Floor
From the reception hall, the turned staircase rises to the first floor landing, with loft access and window over the stairway ample ample natural light. Three bedrooms lead off the landing, with bedroom two affording a generous double with dual aspect and fitted wardrobe with further access to eaves storage. Bedrooms 3 is a well proportioned double room overlooking the garden, and bedroom 4 used as a second study, but equally ideal as a comfortable bedroom. The family bathroom benefits from both a panelled bath with shower over, and separate corner shower. Dual aspect and part tiled.
Step Outside
The garden areas are a particular attribute, with the extensive folding glazed doors from the family room linking the outdoor and indoor spaces. Directly outside the room is gravel and paving with heavy sleepers separating the lawn and generous timber decking beyond. A paved terrace to the side of the house provides a perfect space for outdoor dining, and from where steps rise to a further composite deck with steel and chrome balustrade, being an ideal sheltered and sunny spot for loungers.
