The Sellers View...
After seven very happy years in Taplow, we have decided to relocate to be closer to our families (and take advantage of the free childcare!). We fell in love with Taplow in 2018 when looking for a place to live within easy commuting distance of London. We came across the village green just around the corner, had lunch at the village pub overlooking the green and decided Taplow was for us.
Stockwells is a real one-of-a kind group of houses. We loved the area, but thought any house near to the village green would be way outside of our price range. We couldn’t believe our luck when we found a property within our budget in the heart of the village.
There is a real community vibe to Stockwells which was apparent as soon as we moved in, with neighbours popping around to introduce themselves and invite us to the annual Stockwells barbecue that takes place on the shared back field. We have made many friends here over the years.
We have renovated the house throughout since we moved in, opening out the downstairs living area to be a bright and spacious area that’s great for entertaining, and chasing our one-year old around.
Our back garden is a lovely open space which is great for relaxing and hosting barbecues. Our decking area to the side is great to sit with a cup of tea in the morning and gets the sunshine for most of the day. The shared back field is a real added bonus, particularly for other residents with dogs or small children who like to play football.
Our house benefits from a very sizeable double garage. We've found it to have room for a home gym, a car and still a lot of storage all at the same time. There is also ample shared parking available up by the garage block, and dedicated parking for 10 Stockwells on the curb outside and in front of our garage.
We still after seven years continue to discover new walks to go on right outside our front door. We have multiple lovely pubs and restaurants within walking distance, our favourite Presto pizza takeaway and lots of coffee shops nearby in Maidenhead, and the Bishop centre for a variety of shopping needs just down the road. Taplow for us has always been the right balance of having plenty around to do nearby, whilst having a nice quiet feel to it where you can feel safe walking home from the station late at night.
We're sad to leave, but we hope the next owners will love Stockwells as much as we do.
Please note that there is a right of way around our property, it is only used on very rare occasions (such as moving in large items of furniture that this is ever used), as our adjoining neighbours now have their own direct access through their own gardens on both sides of their property.
