Seller comments:
“Mum loved living in Springfield Mews a small group of houses built in 1998 hidden away in the conservation area of Surley Row. When the time came to downsize from her larger house in Caversham Heights Mum was looking for a place in the heart of the Caversham area or in this case as it turns out Emmer Green. She wasn’t initially sure the area was right as she didn’t know Emmer Green as well as Caversham but once she had taken a look at the house she instantly fell in love with it and lived here happily for more than 20 years. It ticked all her boxes and was perfect match for her needs and she enjoyed meeting and chatting to the neighbours. She particularly liked being able to walk to either end of the historic lane with varied and interesting buildings along the way to the bus stop, up to Emmer Green village for the shops or down the hill into Caversham”
Debbie and Andre's comments:
This truly is a lovely home. Located in a non-estate setting, Surley Row is like nothing else in Caversham! Peaceful and offering a myriad of individually designed properties, some dating back many years, it almost feels like you are entering an area of Cornwall rather than Emmer Green. Springfield Mews is tucked away in a walled garden off of Surley Row and provides modern living with just a few homes in the cul-e-sac. Due to its tucked away location, it feels super private and something just a little bit special!
We love the layout of this home, with the hallway and stairs right in its heart, with all of the other rooms accessible from it, it feels super homely and just right for a family or someone desiring a private location which still has excellent access to buses and the shops of Caversham and Reading.
The house is light and bright with two reception rooms and a good sized kitchen. The Garage is accessed from the hallway and therefore there could be scope to alter it to be part of the home (perhaps a utility, playroom or office). The layout here can definitely be described as flexible and the new owners can certainly make it their own.
Upstairs there are three good sized bedrooms, the principal overlooking the rear gardens and benefits from an en-suite shower room. The family bathroom is modern and a good size and there is plenty of built in storage throughout. There may even be an option to extend above the garage (as others in the cul de sac have done).
Outside, the walled garden creates a private and peaceful space, ideal for relaxing or entertaining. There’s also driveway parking, making day-to-day living easy and convenient.
Located within walking distance of local schools, parkland, shops, and bus routes – and just a short drive from Caversham and Reading town centre – Springfield Mews is a rare opportunity in a highly sought-after area.
Whether you're upsizing, downsizing, or looking for your next family home – this one ticks all the boxes!
