A reimagined two (and a half) bedroom Victorian treasure near Seven Sisters, where timeless appeal meets a mid-century modern vibe.

Brickworks Says

This Victorian terrace has been cleverly opened up to give the home a relaxed, mid-century feel rarely found in properties of this era. The central wooden staircase sits proudly in the heart of the living space—both sculptural and practical—while the reconfigured layout brings a sense of flow and connection throughout. There's a warmth that's hard to pin down—modern in places, nostalgic in others, and always inviting.

At the rear, the kitchen is bathed in natural light thanks to overhead windows and leads out to a garden that's full of character. Mature planting around timeworn paving gives it a lived-in charm. And a garden studio adds flexibility, whether you need a workspace, creative hub, or quiet retreat.

South Tottenham is a neighbourhood with a strong sense of community and dynamic energy. You're a short walk from Seven Sisters station, with plenty of great parks and independent businesses nearby. Families appreciate the good schools and green spaces, while food lovers enjoy the diverse cafés and markets that reflect the area's vibrant culture.

The Owners Say

We've loved living here in South Tottenham and are sad to be leaving. This house is the longest either of us has ever lived anywhere. It's where we brought up our son, and where we have experienced so many different life events—some wonderful, some more difficult, and some just normal. Because of this, it has a special place in our hearts. And because we have made the place very much our own through the different stages of our lives.

It is a really good place to live, with all the parks and green spaces around us, the variety of shops, cafés, and pubs just around the corner, the vibrant mix of community, and easy access to anywhere in London—and beyond.

Recent work:
The current owners have carried out extensive renovations throughout the property. The house has been completely rewired and fitted with a modern Vaillant combi gas boiler (serviced annually). A water-based underfloor heating system has been installed in the ground floor living area, laid over a fully insulated concrete base and finished with oak flooring.

The bathroom has been relocated upstairs and tiled, featuring a walk-in shower, new basin and toilet, and high-quality Grohe fittings. The loft has been converted into a usable space with Velux windows. Structural improvements include knocking through the downstairs reception rooms and widening the doorway between the kitchen and main rooms, both supported with RSJs. The original staircase has been replaced, and a fitted kitchen has been installed with granite worktops, oak surfaces and a double butler sink.

The rear extension has been upgraded with a double-glazed steel structure, and a new steel-framed double-glazed door to the garden has been added in the middle room. Traditional-style double-glazed wooden sash windows have been fitted at the front and rear. Additionally, the property benefits from a new roof and newly plastered walls and ceilings on the ground floor.

Getting around:
Seven Sisters (Victoria line, Overground, Z3) is a major transport hub and a five-minute walk away. South Tottenham (Overground, Z3) is a little further—around 10 minutes on foot. Numerous bus routes pass through the area, taking you all over the city. And Tottenham Hale (Victoria line, Z3) is 15-20 minutes away on foot and is serviced by the Stansted Express. The area is also a Low Traffic Neighbourhood (ltn), meaning the streets are safer for cyclists and more pleasant for walking. Some include sign-posted cycle routes and separate cycle tracks.

Onward plans:
The current owners are actively looking for their next home.

Anything else:
The loft room is not officially classified as a bedroom, as some elements do not conform to current building regulations. However, it is entirely safe and usable. The room has been in place for over 32 years and is quite beautiful; we particularly love the staircase and exposed brickwork. You can use the loft room in any way you choose.
