Area & Street
A brief outline of your experiences in the neighbourhood, things you like to do nearby, or any notable local secrets (ie your favourite café, a local dog park, etc).
We love the neighbourhood - it's a great escape from the hustle and bustle of London, while still being a relatively short commute to the centre. The local area is perfect for leisure and getting a relaxed feel after a week of work.
Our building is directly on the Thames Path, so you can go for a walk by the river without passing any roads or cars. The stretch of the Thames Path that this development is on is a very nice one, with several historical landmarks (the Naval College, Cutty Sark), as well as restaurants, pubs and cafes (Enderby House pub has a great terrace facing the river and is just next to the development, River Gardens Cafe serves great breakfasts and is 5 minute walk away, Kawagishi, a local, well regarded Japanese restaurant is 5 minute walk away, well liked pubs like Pelton Arms, the Crown, Trafalgar Tavern and Cutty Sark are all within 10 minute walk).
Within 15 minutes, one can get to the Greenwich Market - when working from home, we would often take a walk to the Greenwich Market and have some street food there for lunch - this makes for a very relaxing break from work!
Greenwich Park is a 15-minute walk away and a great place to have a picnic over the weekend or a longer walk.
O2 and Trafalgar Road, which are nearby, have many shops and other amenities (post office, beauty salons, yoga studios, gyms etc) that mean most immediate needs can be sorted out locally within a 15-minute walk.
Neighbours
Any info about your immediate neighbours or the community of the street/building.
There is a strong sense of community within the development, with residents often hanging out in the private gardens that are in between the buildings. Our neighbours are quiet and we have never had any issues. There is a friendly atmosphere, with people often having a chat in the lift. We have a book exchange within the development as well as our Facebook group, via which people often share advice or give away / sell items they do not need anymore.
Schools
If applicable, any comments on local schools.
There are two primary schools very nearby: St Joseph's Catholic Primary School (rated Outstanding by Ofsted) and Christ Church C of E Primary School (rated Good by Ofsted). To check broadband and mobile phone coverage please visit Ofcom here
