***Vendor comments*** "This lovely home has been our sanctuary for the past 16 years. It's where we raised our two children, made unforgettable memories, and now enjoy visits from our granddaughters, who love staying here.
When we first viewed the property, we instantly fell in love. The generous space, abundance of natural light, family-friendly layout, nearby primary and secondary schools, and fantastic travel links made it the perfect choice for us. As a young family at the time, we saw its potential to grow with us, and it truly has.
We adapted the layout early on to suit our needs, converting one of the two reception rooms into a spacious double bedroom for ourselves. This allowed each of our children to enjoy their own double bedrooms as they grew. Just last month, we updated that ground-floor bedroom with a fresh new look, giving future owners flexibility to use it as they wish – whether as a bedroom, office, or additional living space.
In 2013, we built a bright and spacious kitchen extension, filled with natural light and ample storage, along with the added convenience of a WC. As a Portuguese family, the kitchen is the heart of the home. We also added a canopy just outside the kitchen doors, creating a beautiful transition from the interior to the garden. The covered patio is one of our favourite spots – perfect for family meals in the summer, a warm stew in the winter, or a cosy hot chocolate on rainy days.
The garden itself is simple and low-maintenance, yet highly adaptable to any weather or occasion. It’s been ideal for us, offering space without the hassle.
Upstairs, there are two generously sized double bedrooms, a bright hallway, and the family bathroom. The hallway layout was one of the features we appreciated most – it provides access to each room without having to go through another. The bathroom was fully renovated five years ago and offers a tranquil space to unwind, with soft nude tones and plenty of natural light.
Streatham Vale has been a wonderful location to call home. We’re less than a 10-minute walk from Streatham Common Station, with Southern Railway services running regularly to London Victoria, London Bridge, East Croydon, and Epsom Downs. Mitcham Eastfields Station is also just a 15-minute walk away, with Southern and Thameslink trains offering direct connections to London St Pancras.
We’ve also benefited from a great selection of local bus routes - 45,60,152, and 463 - making travel into and around London easy and convenient."
