Positioned in a small and idyllic group of cottages, this semi-detached period home exudes charm and character, nestled in a tranquil location on the edge of Stratton. With the historic village just a short walk or cycle away, residents benefit from convenient access to local facilities including a general store with sub-post office, a choice of public houses, a medical centre with minor injury unit, and a well-regarded primary school.
Internally, the cottage is full of warmth and individuality, boasting a welcoming lounge with a wood-burning stove and a bay window that enhances the sense of space and light. The kitchen/dining room is similarly characterful, featuring matching units, integrated appliances including a range, a larder cupboard, and another attractive bay window to the front.
On the first floor, two generously proportioned double bedrooms benefit from exposed wooden floorboards and a beautiful feature fireplace. A spacious family bathroom offers a roll-top bath and separate shower enclosure, complemented by a separate WC for added practicality.
The second floor provides two further bedrooms, both filled with natural light via skylight windows – ideal as additional bedrooms, a home office or creative space, with some areas of restricted head height.
Outside, the cottage is equally impressive. The front garden has been thoughtfully planted with wildflowers to encourage biodiversity and seasonal colour, while the rear garden is a true haven, boasting a range of perennials, shrubs, mature trees, a central lawn, pond, patio area, and a productive garden with a small polytunnel.
Further benefits include mains gas-fired central heating, driveway parking and a garage, although the driveway will only take one average sized car.
Agents Note: The property is semi-detached, with the adjoining cottage having some windows that overlook the garden. However, most are obscured and the neighbouring property holds decorative rights only.
