Seller's comments...
Banksia is where we grew up and looking back we really appreciate what a privilege is has been for us to have been raised there.
The house has been in our family since it was built and was named Banksia by our own Grandmother.
Although it has always been at the heart of our family, the time has come for us to pass on the keys to a new family who can make their own amazing forever memories there.
With age our Dad was unable to do all the jobs like he used to so it will need some tlc to bring it back to full strength but there is huge potential to make Banksia bloom again.
We will miss Banksia immensely, the location is beautiful and we have been truly spoilt. Even now after all these years, friends & family always remember coming to the house and the fun times we shared there.
We hope that someone out there will cherish it as much as we do.
Area comments...
Hare Hatch is a picturesque village nestled in the Berkshire countryside, approximately 7 miles north-east of Reading and 6 miles west of Maidenhead. It forms part of the civil parish of Ruscombe, and is closely associated with the neighbouring village of Wargrave. The village is surrounded by the natural beauty of the Berkshire landscape, offering residents and visitors a tranquil environment. Hare Hatch boasts several historic buildings, including the Grade II listed Hare Hatch House, an 18th-century Georgian mansion. The area is known for its garden centres, notably Hare Hatch Sheeplands, which features a plant nursery, farm shop, and café. With its charming pubs like the Horse and Groom, Hare Hatch fosters a strong sense of community and offers a welcoming atmosphere. The village benefits from excellent transport connections, with the A4 road passing through and the M4 motorway nearby. The closest train station is in Twyford, providing regular services to London Paddington and Reading on the Elizabeth Line.
Adam's (Estate Agent) comments...
Wow! It is a bit of gimmick when estate agents use words such as "unique", "potential" and "quiet location" but this house genuinely has it all. The house rests on a large 0.2 acre plot backing onto to green belt land which is owned by a farm so you are as secluded as you could possibly be which really makes this home special. The land wraps around the house so the sellers and I are fully expecting the next owners to take advantage of this and extend the home in the future (next door have done this so getting permission should be easy enough STPP). The house itself is perfectly clean and useable currently. However, it is expected that the next owners may want to redecorate the home in the future. This place is bursting with character from alcoves to the eye-catching front door, picturesque windows and feature fireplaces so if you're a fan of Georgian architecture then this is the home for you. Please check out my floor plan to understand the layout of the property.
