The property was flooded in 2004 but the Environment Agency has conducted a huge amount of work in and around Boscastle, and the cottage has not flooded since. The cottage enjoys a pedestrian right of way along the front, side and rear of the terrace. This means only one nighbour has right of way that leads past No 1, to the rear, which is rarely used.
