The Sellers View...
Bissley Drive was our first marital home. No more flatshares or housemates. Just us two. It was our dream home with a sunny sw facing garden where we envisioned growing a family; bringing babies over the threshold of our new front door. In the last 10 years we've been lucky enough to welcome three beautiful children. We loved the separate en suite where we could welcome grandparents, family and friends. It was very important for us to have a place to make our guests feel welcomed.
We purchased the home with an immediate desire and plan to create a bright and inviting kitchen and a formal dining room in the front. The kitchen was designed and manufactured by our family business. We both took an active part in designing the kitchen with attention to detail, such as where the chopping boards and the cookbooks would be stored. After the work was done, we couldn't wait to show off the new space to our friends and family.
The front dining room worked out in the beginning, with our large oak table and plush formal chairs, but after baby #2 we quickly realised the front room was underutilised and that the space would be better as a designated playroom. A place for toys and children TV programmes which could be closed off at the end of the day, leaving the main reception room as a relaxing place for mum and dad after the kids were in bed, keeping warm by the fire. Creating a space for the children to play was a Covid project. Painting, decorating and building furniture was all done during lockdown. It went from an unused room to a thriving, fun and necessary addition to the home. It was the best transformation we did after the kitchen.
We call it the house that keeps giving. We've changed rooms to make them playrooms, bedrooms and offices. When ever there's been a change to our family or working circumstances, the house has always accommodated.
We love this home. We love the memories we've build, and we hope the house will continue to give, building memories for the next family or newlywed couple.
