No Chain - A Stunning Three Bedroom Detached Family Home In Alwyn Road
The Sellers View...
After a long year of searching, we instantly fell in love with 95 Alwyn Road the moment we stepped into the light-filled open-plan living area. At the time, we had one child and were looking for a home that offered space, comfort, and flexibility for a growing family. Since then, our second child has arrived, and this home has been the perfect place to grow together.
Some of the standout features for us were the separate office space—ideal for working from home, but just as brilliant as a playroom or a teenage hangout. The solid oak herringbone flooring throughout the downstairs adds such character and warmth, and the spacious master bedroom with its extensive wardrobe space, ensuite, and serene views over the private, greenery-lined garden has been a true retreat. The open-plan living area which can also open out onto the garden means we are always top-choice for a family gathering and have hosted wonderful Christmases here, fitting in everyone with ease.
Since moving in, we’ve redecorated throughout, installed additional office storage, and fitted a new boiler—ensuring everything has been well looked after and ready for the next family to enjoy.
Beyond the house itself, the local area is a real gem. We’re surrounded by stunning countryside with National Trust’s Thicket just a 10-minute walk away—our regular spot for dog walks. In the summer, we love evening picnics by the river in Cookham (just under a 10-minute drive), and being so close to Marlow makes river trips and weekend adventures so easy, whilst also having the convenience of being walking-distance to Maidenhead station and town. We also chose this location for its excellent schools—some of the best in the area, all within catchment.
One thing that really surprised us after moving in was how welcoming the community is. The road has a lovely, friendly vibe with a WhatsApp group, book club, and even street parties for events like the Jubilee and Coronation. Our immediate neighbours have been nothing but so friendly and supportive, always looking out for each other.
The only reason we’re moving is due to a country relocation. We had hoped to keep the house and rent it out, but plans have changed and we’re now selling chain-free. It’s been a home filled with love, laughter, and so many memories—we just hope the next family will enjoy it every bit as much as we have.
