History
Plas Tan y Bwlch was built in 1825 by Major General Lewis Davies, who was a hero of the Napoleonic wars and had served under the Duke of Wellington in Spain. The property remained in the ownership of the family until 1936 when the house and lands were sold off.
It was acquired by the local authority in 1946 and for the next two decades was utilised as a prominent isolation hospital until 1966. It was then acquired by the College of Librarianship and used as their halls of residence until the mid 1980's and then as a catering college for Coleg Ceredigion until 1996 when it was put up for sale.
It was rescued by rock guitarist Uli Jon Roth and then finally sold to a renowned local developer in 2011, for conversion to luxury apartments
