Tucked away next to the Peak Forest Canal, this well-kept family home has plenty to offer. Owned since new, the current owners have looked after the property and made some useful upgrades over the years, including adding a conservatory at the back. The integral garage has been fitted with an electric roller shutter door and is currently being used as a gym, providing a versatile space for fitness.
Inside, there are four good-sized bedrooms, with an en-suite off the main bedroom, a comfortable living room, and a spacious kitchen diner that opens into the conservatory. Outside, the south-facing garden offers a private space to enjoy, and there’s a driveway at the front with room for up to three cars.
It’s a great spot for families looking for space, versatile accommodation, and a bit of peace and quiet by the canal.
Vendor Comments:
When we moved from Didsbury to Disley, we wanted to be able to enjoy the things we had taken for granted in Didsbury: Restaurants, walks, rail links and shops. Disley ticked all the boxes: Gorgeous walks along the canal to Marple, New Mills and beyond; appreciating the wildlife; easy access to shops; lovely restaurants within walking distance and great links to Stockport and Manchester via Disley station.
The house was a mere mound of rubble when we signed up for it so we watched it develop. We chose the plot based on its location, south facing garden and size of driveway.
As our children have grown up, we have enjoyed the three local parks and the varied activities at Lyme Park. They have learnt to ride their bikes on the quiet roads and we’ve delighted in watching the wildlife along the canal during our many walks over the years.
Our neighbours are lovely, and we have made lifelong friends.
Location
Duddy Road is a quiet street just off Red House Lane, set in an elevated position above the Peak Forest Canal. It's a popular spot for families, thanks to the great park on the estate, easy Canalside walks right from your doorstep, and its proximity to the village centre
