Description
Low Far Side is an idyllic countryside retreat, situated on a plot of just under 21 acres, hidden away in the peaceful hamlet of Greenhow Hill, three and half miles outside of the historic Dales town of Pateley Bride. This charming stone house is full of character, with exposed oak beams throughout and wonderful views from every window.
The property dates back to the 1720's and was originally a barn for rearing animals. In the 1960's the property fell derelict and was used as temporary accommodation by local potholers, whilst discovering Stump Cross Caverns. During the 1970's the property was bought and converted into the house it is today.
The main house has a traditional feel, entering through the porch, the ideal space for coats and wellingtons, which leads through to the snug with a wonderful wood burner which makes it the perfect space for relaxing. Of particular note is the sitting/dining room with exposed stone floors, walls and in the centre of the room is the magnificent stone mantlepiece finished with a wood burner making the space perfect for entertaining or relaxing. Through to the well-appointed kitchen which is fitted with appliances and an aga range cooker. Completing the downstairs is an office, utility room and bathroom.
The first floor of the property is made up of three bedrooms and a bathroom. The spacious principal bedroom is located on the right side of the property and has an abundance of natural light. Bedroom two and three are very good sized double bedrooms, and to finish the first-floor accommodation is a well-appointed family bathroom.
The property is also equipped with a long private track to access the property. To the front is a seating area, as well as a large side terrace with a patio and small pond. Additionally the property has a storage/workshop with loft level storage connected to the main house.
In addition to the main property there is a sizeable stone barn and particularly well-built timber stable block, with water supply and electric, offering further storage space or housing for animals.
The property's excellent location and design make it perfect to enjoy all year round, both inside and out, with stunning countryside views in a beautiful location.
