Attractive detached five bedroom period family house with delightful garden and outbuilding.
Description
A handsome detached period property, idyllically located in a corner of a quiet country lane on the edge of this popular village.
North Corner is a most attractive, well presented family home arranged over two floors and offering well proportioned, light and spacious accommodation.
The entrance leads straight to the heart of the home, the country-style Smallbone kitchen/dining room which has a lovely welcoming feel. There is a sizeable sitting room as well as a study and a family room which has French doors to the garden. A useful utility room and cloakroom complete the downstairs accommodation.
The first floor offers five bedrooms, all with pleasant aspects and there is a main family bathroom and a shower room.
Outside
A generous gravelled parking area provides parking for three to four cars. A gate leads to a pathway which in turn leads to the house through the main garden. The garden is predominantly laid to lawn, interspersed into sections using hedging and trellising. There are a good variety of shrubs and trees.
A detached outbuilding has an adjoining workshop/storage room. Between the house and the outbuilding is a terraced seating area overlooking the lawn.
To the rear of the house is the village recreation/sports ground which also offers a play park and pre-school, which would be to the benefit of children of all ages.
Location
North Corner is enviably tucked away in the corner of a horse-shoe shaped close, within the village of Ashford Hill. The village offers a village primary school, a church and is well located for Cheam School (3.5 miles) in addition to Horris Hill, Elstree, Thorngrove and Bradfield. In the state sector there are Ashford Hill and Kingsclere primary schools as well as St Bartholomew’s and Park House secondary schools. To the rear is the play park and pre-school, which are located within the recreation/sports ground to the rear, which offers many opportunities to children of all ages. A village shop/Post Office can be found in the nearby village of Headley. There are numerous footpaths and bridleways in the area set amongst some stunning countryside. Communications are excellent by road via the A339 onto the M3 or to the A34 onto the M4. Regular train services run from Basingstoke to London Waterloo and from Newbury to London Paddington. The popular village of Kingsclere some 3 miles distant has excellent local amenities with a wider range of facilities in either Basingstoke or Newbury.
