Chudleigh is a popular Devon town for good reason, with a vibrant and active community there is always something going on, and the town is ideally situated between the South Devon coast and the rugged hills of Dartmoor. Haldon Forest, with miles of mountain bike trails and walking routes is also close by. Chudleigh benefits from a good range of independent shops plus two convenience stores, cafes, pubs, fish & chip shop, a restaurant, as well as a regular market selling local produce. Several quality takeaway food vans also visit on a regular basis. St Martin & St Mary Church is well supported and holds regular services.

There are opportunities for all types of water sports at nearby Teignmouth or Torbay, where there is also a deep water marina. The walks, pubs and Tors of Dartmoor are only a short drive away and there are several golf clubs in the area, Teign Valley, Dainton, and Teignmouth.

The local primary school is well supported and has a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating. Secondary schools are located in Kingsteignton and independent schools in Teignmouth, Stover, and Exeter, with Grammar Schools located in Torquay.

Chudleigh is conveniently located for commuting to Torbay, Exeter or Plymouth with easy access to the A38 and A380, dual carriageways, and also for access to the rest of the country via the M5 motorway at Exeter. There are regular local bus services and mainline rail station in Newton Abbot and Teignmouth linking to London Paddington in around 3 hours. Exeter has an airport flying to national and international destinations.

Description

Millstream Meadow is a well-established and sought after road of mostly detached homes built in the early 2000’s by Cavanna Homes. This well-presented townhouse has an attractive stone clad and rendered front elevation below a pitched slate roof. To the front is driveway parking for these two cars and to the rear is a private west facing garden.

One of many advantages of townhouses is that the main living accommodation and garden set above road level giving a high degree of privacy, reduced external sound and improved outlook when compared to a two storey house. Accommodation comprises of an entrance hall, a kitchen-size utility, cloakroom/WC and a very deep, spacious garage on the ground floor. The mid-level houses the reception accommodation including a living room, kitchen/dining room, living room plus the fourth bedroom or study. Off the rear is a conservatory which in turn leads to the garden. On the upper floor are three bedrooms, one with en suite shower room and a family bathroom.

Accommodation

From the brick paved driveway the front door opens to the entrance hall where there is a cloakroom/WC and two useful storage cupboards. At the rear is a particularly generous, kitchen sized utility room with storage units, work surfaces and sink, as well as undercounter space for washing and drying machines. A door gives internal access to the 10 metre deep garage which has potential for further division, perhaps for a workshop, gym or media room, or as is provides a huge storage space.

From the hallway a turned staircase rises to the garden level. The landing gives access to all rooms with the main reception rooms also linked giving a good flow between rooms. The kitchen/dining room has a range of light grey storage units above and below granite effect work surfaces with an inset composite sink and drainer below the window to one half of the room. Integrated appliances include an inset gas hob with an extractor over and double oven/grill below, plus a dishwasher. There is space for a freestanding fridge/freezer. The other half of the room provides space for a dining table. Smart wood effect flooring runs throughout the room. From here glazed oak veneered concertina doors open or divide the dining room from the living room, also allowing light to flow through the rooms from the front and rear of the property. The living room has a view to the front over the surrounding area and a gas fire in a stone surround and mantle provides a warming focal point. Off the rear of the property is a large conservatory providing another useful reception space and garden room. Also on this floor is the 4th bedroom which is currently in use as a study.

A turned staircase leads to the bedroom level where there are three bedrooms off the landing including the main bedroom with a part tiled en suite shower room with shower cubicle, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail. The main bedroom and bedroom three have an outlook to the front. Bedroom three also has a built in cupboard. Bedroom two and three share the family bathroom which is part tiled with a shower over the bath, wash basin and WC.

Outside

To the front of the property is a brick paved driveway providing parking for two cars and leading to the garage, either side are beds planted with flowers and shrubs. There are steps to the side of the property providing direct access when required to the back garden. The back garden is enclosed with wooden fencing and has a westerly orientation taking in the best of the afternoon and evening sun. The area around the conservatory is level and laid with artificial grass from where the lawn gently slopes to a raised bed planted with shrubs and flowers, retained by a low natural stone wall. A gate in the fence at the rear of the garden opens to the mill leat which runs behind the properties and once would have supplied water to power the mill wheel at the nearby mill, and from which the road takes its name.
