About this property
Wheelchair accessible
An imposing and handsome, Victorian detached property, which spans four floors, enjoys a prime location on the western edge of the town and, a rarity for a property of its type and age it has off road parking and a garage.
Oozing period features and charm, one of the most striking elements about this wonderful home is the sheer scale of the rooms, with high ceilings and large sash windows adding further to that beautiful sense of space. Many of the rooms also retain original features, including gorgeous fireplaces.
On the ground floor, from the hallway, there are two principal reception rooms, a sitting room and dining room, both of which have their original fireplaces. The front sitting room in particular is most attractive and features a large bay window.
From the dining room, and to the rear of the property, you are led through to the stylish and contemporary kitchen/breakfast room, featuring many built in appliances and with sliding doors leading out into the rear garden. A third reception is located just off the kitchen/breakfast room, also benefiting from bi fold doors out to the rear garden. Completing the ground floor is a utility, with both external access to the side of the property and internal access to the integral garage, and a separate WC.
Downstairs to the lower ground floor, the fourth and final reception room is found, which could be used as a playroom, cinema or gym, depending on preference.
The bedrooms are located over two upper floors, on the first floor there are five bedrooms in total, two of which have built in wardrobes, and one it`s own en suite shower room. The remaining bedrooms are served by both the modern family bathroom and another luxurious shower room. Up again, to the top of the house, is where the sixth and final bedroom is located, which is another generous double room with lots of storage available in the eaves and spectacular far reaching views.
Outside, the large, westerly facing, rear garden is around 100ft in length. Laid mainly to lawn, it also has a large patio area, flower borders, and fruit trees. To the front of the property is a pretty front garden, setting the property nicely back from the roadside, and both a brick paved driveway and a garage, allowing parking for multiple vehicles.
Location
Tring is a pretty market town on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, mentioned in 1086 in the Domesday book. The town offers a wide range of recreational facilities, including a branch of the Natural History Museum, the Grand Union Canal, Pendley Court Theatre, and various sporting activities.
Local shopping facilities are varied and include a selection of independent boutiques, plus larger chains such as Tesco and M&S Simply Food. There are also a number of independent restaurants and artisan cafes.
The slightly larger market town of Berkhamsted is only around 5 miles away, and offers a further range of shops and facilities, including Waitrose.
Buckinghamshire`s County Town, Aylesbury, is around 8 miles away and boasts a multiplex cinema, shopping centres, and a recently completed £42 million theatre.
The area boasts some excellent educational facilities, including Tring School. For those wishing to use the independent sector, Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, Westbrook Hay School, and Chesham Preparatory School all have superb reputations.
London is easily accessible. Both commuters to town, and those seeking some retail therapy at Westfield, are well catered for with Tring station providing regular train services to London Euston. Road links nearby include the A41, which provides dual carriageway access direct to the M25 (J20).
