A Note from the Homeowner
i’ve lived in Cardigan Road for over 25 years and it’s been a great place to live! It’s quiet, there’s a good sense of community here and it feels very safe. In the surrounding properties, there’s a wide mix of young families, young professionals, older residents and students. The house gets the sun in the front first thing in the morning and in the back for most of the rest of the day, which is great for relaxing in the garden! I’ve loved having the peaceful surroundings of Whiteknights Lake and Harris Gardens less than a ten minute walk away. The Erleigh Road shops are two minutes away at the bottom of the road, very handy...and the Co-op, pharmacy, launderette, cafes, bars offer great options. In addition, the town centre is an easy walk away but with a regular bus service too.
Whilst i’m looking forward to living my golden years in a more rural location, I shall certainly miss all the amenities and convenience that Cardigan Road brings.
Agent’s Perspective
This charming two-bedroom Victorian home on Cardigan Road blends character with convenience in a sought-after location. It’s handy that the street is one-way, making on-street permit parking on both sides more manageable.
The location truly is king — Royal Berkshire Hospital and the University of Reading are both within easy reach, making this an ideal home for professionals. Frequent bus routes into town mean easy access to everything Reading has to offer.
Inside, the property is clean and tidy, with plenty of potential for those looking to add their own style. The shower room at the rear and the kitchen are both in good order, offering a solid foundation to make this home your own. The house is double glazed throughout and benefits from a Worcester Bosch combi boiler under five years old for efficient heating.
Upstairs, you’ll find two well-proportioned bedrooms, both featuring built-in wardrobes fitted into the alcove, maximising storage without compromising space.
The west-facing garden provides a sunny afternoon retreat, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. At the front, a well-kept hedge offers added privacy to the front living room, creating a more secluded and cosy feel. Plus, the area is well-served with amenities, including the much-loved Café Yolk, a local favourite for coffee and brunch.
A great opportunity to put your own stamp on a well-located Victorian home.
We look forward to showing you around.
