The Sellers View...
When we purchased this property seven years ago, it was a project we were excited to take on. Both of us grew up in Cox Green, and although we started our journey as homeowners in Holyport, we were eager to come back to the area to be closer to our families and the wonderful community we knew so well. With both sets of parents still nearby and our son just one year old at the time, we knew it was the perfect place to settle down and provide him with the best start in life, including access to excellent local schools.
The house had so much potential, and we were drawn to its location, especially the field in front of the house. Despite having a generous garden, the field reminded us of our childhoods, where we grew up playing near open spaces. It felt wonderful to be able to give our son that same experience. What’s made it even more special is the sense of community here. There are many houses in Furrow Way with children, and it’s been a joy to see our son playing outside with his friends in all seasons. On warm summer days, we leave our gates open, and the children run freely between the gardens, laughing and playing together. It’s such a rare and heartwarming environment to be a part of, and it has made this house truly feel like home.
Over the years, we’ve lovingly renovated the property, turning it into a spacious and modern family home. The first big change was removing the wall between the kitchen and the dining/lounge area to create a bright, open-plan space, complete with an island at its heart. We chose not to close off the adjoining space because we wanted the downstairs to feel open and welcoming, perfect for family life and entertaining. From there, we continued updating the house, including installing a brand-new kitchen and bathrooms, re-plastering all the walls, adding wall panelling to two of the bedrooms, fitting new carpets throughout and replacing all the door frames. The recent addition was the media wall in the lounge for a cosy and modern touch. Outside, we completely landscaped both the front and rear gardens, transforming the spaces into beautiful, functional areas and adding an extra parking space to the rear of the property for added convenience.
This house has been our perfect family home, and while it’s bittersweet to say goodbye, we’re ready to move on to our next project. Our son is thriving at Lowbrook Academy, which is just a short walk away, and we’ve created so many happy memories here. We hope the next family will love this home and the wonderful community around it as much as we have.
