Possibly one of the largest (1356sqft) semi-detached, four bedroom houses in Courtland Road, this lovely family home is ready and waiting for its next custodian to continue the extensions already begun by the present owners who have lived here happily since 1985 - that's an amazing 40 years - and who are now looking forward to new adventures!
Whilst it is fair to say that the house could do with some moderinising, the addition of a large conservatory to the rear and an extra usable room with Velux windows in the attic does make it stand out from most of the houses in Courtland Road in terms of space. On the subject of extensions, planning permission was granted in 2015 for a full loft extension and whilst that has expired, I see no reason why the local authority would refuse if the same were reapplied for. I feel it is also worth pointing out that access to the attic room is via a tight spiral staircase so would be unsuitable for small children and those of limited mobility.
There are other major plus points to this lovely home including - but not limited to - the fact it has three reception rooms downstairs (ok, one is a conservatory but even so...) a downstairs loo, an unusually large bathroom on the first floor (see floorplan), the South West facing rear garden, and importantly the driveway/parking space at the front.
So that's the house, gardens and parking done, let's see what we have nearby! Well for one thing, you'll not go hungry because within easy walking distance - and I do mean an easy flat stroll - there are a whole range of lovely eateries to choose from; two cafes, a Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, a Chinese take away, a fish & chip shop, a kebabery and even a shop selling delicious Polish fare! Then for the more mundane but necessary there is also a newsagent and an all important large Co-Op supermarket.
For in depth comprehensive information on things like Oxford's schools, transport links, please do refer to the 'Key Facts For Buyers Guide' report that you will find if you go to the 'photos' section in the portals under the heading 'Virtual Tour' or alternatively click on the heading 'Virtual Tour' if you're reading this on my website. In this guide you will find lots of other information like Title register information, planning histories etc.
Now the last words from my lovely clients who would like to pass on a few of their favourite reasons for living in this part of the town. Particularly they will miss their allotment and have asked me to point out that the nearby Thompson Terrace allotments are only ten to fifteen minutes walk from the house. Also, the lovely village of Iffley is nearby with its picturesque church, couple of local pubs - The Prince of Wales and then onto and across the River (Thames) where you will find the Isis Farmhouse and of course some superb riverside walks.
So, all in all, quite a few very good reasons to get in touch and make an appointment to view. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
