The property is situated on the edge of the village of Holford. The village has a long history dating back to the Iron Age. It has literary connections with Wordsworth who lived at Alfoxton Park for a year along with Coleridge who lived at nearby Nether Stowey. They wrote some of their famous poetry inspired by the beauty of the local landscape. The village also benefits from a good local pub and hotels. A wider range of amenities can be found in the nearby village of Nether Stowey. The large centre of Bridgwater lies approximately 11 miles away with a comprehensive range of retail facilities as you would expect from a larger town. Bridgwater also has a main line rail link and motorway access can be gained to the M5 at junctions 23 and 24. Holford Combe is a sheltered wooded valley at the foot of the Quantock Hills an area designated as being of Outstanding Natural Beauty and benefits from a comprehensive network of footpaths and bridleways providing picturesque walks across the Quantock Hills.
Outside, the gardens are a particular feature of the property. The rear is predominantly laid to lawn with mature hedges, shrub borders and a variety of flowers and plants. There are two timber workshops with power. To the side there is a productive vegetable garden, along with a greenhouse. The front garden is enclosed by panel fencing and again is laid to lawn with trees and bushes. Also to the front is a gravel area which provides off-road parking.
