Description
Easter Drumatherty is an attractive C Listed former farmhouse, believed to date from about 1830 and has recently undergone a complete programme of refurbishment. At its heart is an open plan dining kitchen which enjoys long views to the west and has an electric range cooker, double butler’s sink and central island. The sitting room has a bay window filling it with southerly light. There is also a ground floor bedroom which could be used as a further reception room / office. This connects to a shower room which in turn connects to the cloakroom accessed from the hall. On the first floor three double bedrooms each have their own luxurious bath or shower room. The house is in total turnkey condition.
Outbuildings
A range of outbuildings behind the house provide lots of space for garaging, workshops and storage.
Garden and grounds
The grounds at Easter Drumatherty extend to about 1.12 acres. The garden is enclosed and mainly lawn but offers huge scope for further landscaping and planting.
Location
Easter Drumatherty is situated in the Tay Valley between the villages of Meikleour and Spittalfield. Dunkeld (7 miles west) with its historic cathedral and scenic location on the banks of the River Tay is popular for its independent shops, bars and cafés, whilst Blairgowrie (5 miles east) has four supermarkets as well as health and professional services. The Meikleour Arms Hotel and Uisge in Murthly are two popular local restaurants. Dunkeld has a railway station with regular services north and south and a sleeper service to London.
Perth and Dundee are about 15 miles and 22 miles away respectively and have a more comprehensive choice of shops, services and cultural venues such as the Perth Concert Hall and Dundee’s V&A museum. There is a primary school at Glendelvine (2 miles) and secondary schooling in Blairgowrie. There are also a number of private schools including Glenalmond, Strathallan, Ardvreck, and Craigclowan within 30 miles.
The forests, hills and lochs above Dunkeld are popular with walkers and mountain bikers, and there are beautiful walks along the nearby River Tay and in the bluebell woods of Ballathie. Salmon fishing, shooting and stalking are all available on nearby estates and Glenshee ski centre is 30 miles away. Easter Drumatherty is within 35 miles of golf courses at Gleneagles, St Andrews, Carnoustie and Blairgowrie.
