Thurnscoe is a village in the metropolitan borough of Barnsley, with an estimated population of 9,133 (2021 Census). The village is approximately eight and a half miles west of Doncaster, eight and a half miles east of Barnsley and nine and a half miles north of Rotherham. The B6411 is the principal route through Thurnscoe transecting the village east to west. It connects with Great Houghton to the west and Hickleton to the east.
